Venice is the epitome of uniqueness, generosity, traditionalism and renaissance in architecture as well as in fine art. I spent two wonderful weeks in this city on a summer holiday. What impressed me most about its architecture was its proportions, symmetry, and disciplined lining - not to mention its paintings, sculptures and atmospheric streets. Many renaissance buildings in Budapest (a number of which are protected as cultural heritage) adapted their build-up, elevation and form from here. It is the noble task of an architect to preserve, and modernise these edifices, while designing such properties around them that are faithful to the renaissance spirit, for all their modern technology.
