Switzerland Study Visit
This 4-day-long study trip organised by Eurostudent turned out to be a great opportunity to relax and, at the same time, improve myself professionally. The textbook buildings of Switzerland, Bern, Zurich, Weil am Rhein, Dornach have always been a delicacy for a Hungarian architect, an exceptional chance to glimpse into contemporary architecture. To see the many-faceted, functional, modern cladded buildings of Herzog & de Meuron; to be raptured by the religious hights of the Ronchamp Chapel (Le Corbusier); to be inspired by the art of the the tradition-grounder Mario Botta; to be refreshed in Rudolf Steiner’s organic style theatre building in Dornach; to almost meet the regionalist architect Peter Zumthor at the University of Zurich - all these offered a once in a lifetime experience. We could gain insight into how developed the University of Zurich operated, Swiss concrete architecture, to the cityscape of Luzern and how the old and the new are integrated there, into Bern’s past and how its famous clocktower works.
